At Veli, our mission has always been to provide secure, transparent, and trustworthy digital asset investment solutions. We are thrilled to announce a pivotal milestone this week: Veli has officially submitted its Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) license application. This milestone builds on our CASP licensing process and highlights our commitment to compliance and growth across the EU.
In preparing the MiCA application, our team invested significant effort into compiling and submitting a comprehensive set of documents, including our Business Plan, various policies, regulatory forms, and others. Altogether, we prepared hundreds of pages covering compliance, risk management, information security, AML and governance.
MiCA provides a harmonized EU framework to protect consumers, ensure market integrity, and foster a unified regulatory environment across all 27 member states, serving as a foundation for mainstream crypto adoption. This regulatory clarity allows companies to operate cross-border with a single license, unlike previous fragmented national rules.
Veli, already licensed in Bulgaria as VASP and now registering in Lithuania as a CASP, is committed to the highest standards of cybersecurity, AML, transparency, and investor protection under MiCA. This includes full compliance with the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), an EU regulation ensuring robust systems to manage cyber risks, data breaches, and IT outages through regular risk assessments, incident protocols, and transparent communication with regulators.
As we mentioned in our previous update, we are committed to keeping our community informed every step of the way. Submitting our MiCA application is an important milestone, and we will continue to share updates on the licensing process and what it means for our users and partners, and of course inform you once we have officially obtained the MiCA license.
